Shut down Challenges

Welcome to the Shut Down Area of the website!

Here you will find a range of activities for the children to access whilst the school is shut. The pages have been broken down into year groups, grouped by Key Stages such as Year 1 and 2, Year 3 and 4 and Year 5 and 6.  Early Years Foundation Stage have their own page within this area of the website.

On each page, a guestbook has been included.  Here you, as parents and carers, will be able to respond to the challenges and post what your child/children have been doing. These comments will then be sent directly to a staff member manning the website and will be uploaded so others can see how you are getting on as well.

If the challenge or challenges for a particular day or week require photo taking, please send photos to the enquiries@smp.dsat.education address and these will be forwarded on to one of the team.  Please note that by emailing us a picture, we assume that you are happy for us to use it on our website unless you directly ask us not to use it.

In addition to tasks set by staff at school, there is also a list of free to access educational sites which will be extremely beneficial to children completing home learning for the duration of the closure.  We also want children to continue being physically active for the duration and have uploaded resources for children to use at home. Don't forget, Joe Wicks is doing a YouTube video every morning at 9:00am to encourage children to be physically active - What a great way to start the day! #PEwithJoe

Whilst we appreciate this is a challenging time for all, we are really looking forward to staying in touch with the children we teach regularly through this platform and will put teachers at ease knowing that children are safe, well and engaged with out of the classroom learning.
