Learning to be the best that we can be with the love of God

2P Parents Welcome Meeting

Welcome to Class 2P

 Class Teacher: Mrs H Price

Teaching Assistant: Mrs Newton

Both myself and Mrs Newton are thrilled to be welcoming you all back into school.  We are very excited to embark on our Year 2 journey together.  We have planned an interesting and exciting curriculm and will start the year with the topic "Magnificant Monarchs".  As part of this topic we will be learning about significant Kings and Queens from the past up to the present day.

Getting in Touch

Due to the need to maintain social distancing I will unfortunately be unable to discuss any matters at the school gate either at the start or end of the day.  If there is something that you would like to discuss please don't hesitate to message me through Class Dojo or by telephoning the school directly and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.

PE Days

Our PE days are Monday (Mrs Price) and Friday (Miss Walker)

Please ensure that your child has both indoor and outdoor PE kit in school on these days. Wherever possible PE will  take place outside, therefore it is important that outdoor PE kit includes suitable footwear (trainers/pumps) and clothing suitable for colder weather (tracksuit bottoms/long sleeved top or jacket).  For health and safety reasons children should not be wearing any jewellery, particularly earrings.  These should be removed before coming to school on PE days (if this is not possible plasters/tape should be applied prior to coming to school).

Homework will be given on a Friday and should be completed by the following Thursday.  Where possible homework will be electronic and will include both English and Maths.

Each week your child will read with an adult at school, this will be recorded on the right hand side of your child's reading record.  We encourage parents/carers to read as often as possible with their children and ask that you aim for a minimum of 4 times a week.  Please record this in your child's reading record, including date, title and pages read please feel free to write a comment.  Children will be able to change their own reading books when ready.
