Welcome to St Michael's CE Primary School
St Michael's is a Church of England Primary School for children from the ages of nearly 5 to 11 years.
As an Academy School, we are supported by the Diocese of Sheffield Academies Trust. We have a close working partnership with two schools in particular from within the trust, St Albans CE Primary School and Flanderwell Primary School (both Rotherham schools), and we share the same Executive Headteacher. We also have close links with St Michael's Church and the local Christian community who offer us a lot of support.
Our School was originally built in the nineteen century and started life as the local village school for Old Rossington. The School was expanded in the 1960's and early 2000's when the Victorian buildings were supplemented by the building of extra classrooms and halls to meet the demand of rising pupil numbers. We currently have 368 children on roll in School.
St Michaels is a warm, friendly and welcoming school where we believe passionately that all children deserve the best possible education and care every minute of every day. Each child is important to us at St Michael’s. We strive to prepare all of our children for the next stage of their education and for the world of work. In a society which is increasingly divided and isolated, we value strongly our role within the community to develop our pupils’ sense of responsibility, belonging and respect. Children are taught how to be ready, respectful, safe.
Yours (very proud),
Alison Adair (Executive Headteacher)
Philippa Cousins (Head of School)
We do hope you are all keeping well and safe and would like to thank you warmly for your continued support as we journey together in these difficult days.
This week we have been working very closely as school leaders across the Diocese Sheffield Academies Trust to plan ahead for any possible eventuality that may face us as a group of schools due to the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak.
